  • Chip McIntyre

    Board President

    Undersheriff McIntyre began his career with Moffat County Sheriff's Office in 1995 as a Detention Deputy.  In 1997 he became a resident deputy in Dinosaur before transferring to Craig in 1998.  In 2001, he left the Sheriff's Office joining the Colorado State Patrol where he was a Trooper in Durango, Montrose, and Delta.  In 2007 he joined the Grand Junction Police Department working in the patrol division and the Community Advocacy Unit. In 2014 he rejoined the Moffat County Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy.  In 2015 he was assigned to the investigations unit, as an investigator with the regional drug task force, in early 2017 he was assigned as the Task Force Commander.   In 2017 he was promoted to Lieutenant as the Operations Chief over the patrol and investigation divisions. In 2023 he was appointed Undersheriff after the retirement of Undersheriff Charlene Abdella.

  • Sasha Nelson

    Board Vice-President


    Sasha is an economic developer, and community builder from rural Northwestern Colorado. She was the first in her family to attend university,
    completing bachelor’s degrees in both science and arts, a postgraduate diploma, and a master’s degree while living in Australia. Sasha values the authentic relationships that make rural regions wonderful and holds service to others as a core value. She is an insightful partner in transitioning economies in Northwest Colorado. In addition to serving as Vice Chair of Advocates Crisis Trauma Support Services, Sasha also serves on the boards of the Yampa Valley Electric Association, the Craig/Moffat Chamber of Commerce, and was appointed by Craig City Council to serve on the economic development advisory committee.

  • Jona Ely, DNP, FNP-BC

    Board Secretary

    Dr. Jona Ely has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. They currently serve as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Northwest Colorado Health since June 2022. They also hold the same role at Lander Medical Clinic from November 2021 to November 2022. Prior to these positions, Dr. Ely worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at UCHealth - Yampa Valley Medical Center from March 2014 to October 2021. They gained experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Kinder Family Clinic from May 2002 to March 2014. Dr. Ely began their career as a Staff Nurse in Obstetrics and Med/Surg at Yampa Valley Medical Center in September 1999. They specialized in Labor & Delivery, Post Partum, Newborn care, and Medical Surgical Care until August 2012. Additionally, Dr. Ely has expertise as a Legal Nurse Consultant at Mountain Medical Legal Consultants since February 2016. In this role, they provide expert witness services for Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse cases, conduct case reviews, prepare medical chronologies, summaries, and timelines, and identify missing or altered records. Dr. Jona Ely completed their education history with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Colorado Mesa University in 1992. Later, they pursued a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Northern Colorado in 2002. Finally, they obtained a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 2013.

  • Marco Borja

    Board Treasurer

    Marco was raised in the Yampa Valley, immersed in a Mexican American household where English was limited. This upbringing instilled in him a deep understanding of the significance of accessible healthcare services, not just for his own family, but for the entire community. Marco's unwavering passion lies in advocating for those whose voices are often disregarded or silenced. Recognizing that everyone has a unique story, regardless of their background, he dedicates his time to championing the rights of the Hispanic/Non-English Speaking Community, the LGBTQIA2S+ Community, and Sexual Assault Survivors. Throughout his journey, Marco has worked with diverse populations, ranging from youth to older adults. With experience in behavioral health, social work, and agriculture, he has witnessed firsthand the lack of support for racial and ethnic minority groups. Marco finds joy in connecting with loved ones through outdoor activities and cooking, cherishing these moments as opportunities to strengthen bonds and create lasting memories.

  • Becky Forney, MSN RN

    Board Member at Large

    Becky is the Chief Nursing Officer at Memorial Regional Health, where she oversees all nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and nursing excellence. Originally from Wyoming, Becky brings a deep-rooted sense of community and dedication to her role. With years of experience in healthcare leadership, she is committed to fostering a collaborative and compassionate environment for both patients and staff. Her expertise in nursing management and patient-centered care plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's healthcare services.

  • Jesse Arthurs, CMSP

    Board Member at Large

    I was born in Rangely, Colorado, and raised in Craig, Colorado and Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from Moffat County High School, I attended mortuary school in Littleton and received a mortuary science degree in 2004. After serving as a mortician for Delta County families for nine years, I moved back to Craig in 2014 and accepted the location manager position at Grant Mortuary. In 2019, I was elected Moffat County Coroner where I have continued to serve families who have lost a loved one with the compassion and dignity that they deserve. I wanted to become a board member for ACTSS because I love the work that the advocates do every single day. I simply could not pass up the opportunity after building wonderful relationships with these caring and compassionate professionals. I look forward to working closely with the board to ensure the success of ACTSS for years to come.

    Jennifer Mattern, BS, SHRM-CP, PMQ

    Board Member at Large

    Bringing a wealth of expertise in human resources, compliance, and organizational leadership, Jennifer serves as the Senior Director of Human Resources at Northwest Colorado Health. In her role, she focuses on overseeing human resources, IT, and facilities while contributing to compliance efforts. Jennifer is deeply committed to fostering a positive workplace culture and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, supporting the success of ACTSS.

    A 2012 graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science (Health Promotion concentration) and a Business Administration Minor, Jennifer has been with Northwest Colorado Health since 2013. Her career growth within the organization includes roles as a Medical Assistant, Community Health Educator, Human Resources Generalist, and Human Resources Manager, culminating in her current leadership position in 2024. She earned her Society for Human Resources-Certified Professional Certification in 2020, demonstrating her commitment to professional excellence.

  • Jamie Fraipont-Daszkiewicz, CMLC-TI,CBCC, CDD, CSTS,

    Executive Director

    Jamie is Certified Master Life, Health, and Behavioral Change and multiple certifications in strength movement, leadership, mindset/embodiment, advanced motivational interviewing, and executive functioning coaching and Death Doula. She has a focus on serving women as they transition through stages of life which often include: crisis, trauma and transitions. She has decades of experience in education, advocacy and coaching at risk, vulnerable populations, disabilities, mental health work and navigating systems. Jamie is a US Army veteran, survivor to thrivor from childhood trauma, domestic violence, sex assault and firmly believes that when women come together to heal and empower, magic happens. Her philosophy is to meet clients where they are , hold that space and allow clients the process to joy based autonomy and thriving. She believes all vibes matter, and emotions are valid.
