Undersheriff McIntyre began his career with Moffat County Sheriff's Office in 1995 as a Detention Deputy. In 1997 he became a resident deputy in Dinosaur before transferring to Craig in 1998. In 2001, he left the Sheriff's Office joining the Colorado State Patrol where he was a Trooper in Durango, Montrose, and Delta. In 2007 he joined the Grand Junction Police Department working in the patrol division and the Community Advocacy Unit. In 2014 he rejoined the Moffat County Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy. In 2015 he was assigned to the investigations unit, as an investigator with the regional drug task force, in early 2017 he was assigned as the Task Force Commander. In 2017 he was promoted to Lieutenant as the Operations Chief over the patrol and investigation divisions. In 2023 he was appointed Undersheriff after the retirement of Undersheriff Charlene Abdella.
